St. Basil Mission Statement
St. Basil the Great is a Christ centered community of Byzantine Catholics, who have dedicated their lives to God. We strive to implement our Lord's command to go "and make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19b) first and foremost in our own lives and by our example draw all people closer to God.
Our Inspiration
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. Jn 1:1-2
God is Light. 1 Jn 1:4
Light shines in the darkness and the darkness could not overpower it. Jn 1:4
The Word was the real light that gives light to everyone. Jn 1:9
You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill-top cannot be hidden.
No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub, they put it on a lamp stand where it shines
for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine in the peoples sight, so that,
seeing your good works, they may give praise to your Father in heaven. Matt. 5:14-16
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations;
and baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. Matt 28:19b-20
